Happy in Private.
The other morning over coffee my wife Mona and I were discussing a piece we'd seen on the news about a study on depression, and about people who always seemed to be outwardly sad and unhappy. "They can't always be sad", she said. "Maybe they're happy in private." I had a pen in my hand at the time, and this was what came out - a ten second self portrait of me alone at my drawing desk. Happy in private.
